The founder

I am David Serreau.

I am building Edge Quantum 65, a research and development lab, in Lannemezan, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. I work alone. This site presents what I do and where I stand.

I am self-taught. One rule governs everything published here: nothing is asserted that has not been measured.

I — Chess

Chess shaped me.

I play correspondence chess. I am CCM — Correspondence Chess Master of the international federation (ICCF), a title obtained in 2025, and ICCF International Master, a title obtained on 15 October 2026 with a third norm (official confirmation within two weeks). I am the 29th French player, 4th French player and 122nd in the world at Chess960, a member of the French national team, a semi-finalist in the ICCF World Cup and the European Championship.

In correspondence chess, engines are allowed. Everyone has the same machines: what makes the difference is the person who directs them, compares their evaluations and decides. That is what I do at the lab, and that is what the module does on a machine: the machine computes, the human decides.

This game taught me two things: prepare instead of improvising, and never trust an evaluation you have not checked yourself. ICCF profile no. 181914 →

II — The achievements

What I have built, and its real state.

The starting point is not a business project: it is a chess engine I wrote myself. To play at my level, you have to evaluate a position in a fraction of a second with a few kilobytes of memory — which is also what an industrial machine requires. The rest came from there.

AchievementReal stateNature
Chess engine Functional, frozen as a test bench Personal work, written entirely
Embedded neural network Compiled for microcontroller, validated in tests not yet flashed Port and validation
Sensor acquisition software Vibration, temperature, current — drivers written and tested Acquisition and processing
Observation module Software prototype: from simulated signal to decision not yet on a machine Product in preparation
Technology portfolio Documented, timestamped, source verification in progress Licensable asset
Quantum algorithm simulator Functional, with its test suite Lab tool

What remains, I say it too. The first test on a real machine. Industrialization of the module. Registration of the company. The lab is not finished; it is moving forward.

III — How I work

My method.

I.

Proof before publication

Every published figure must be reproducible from the code or from the inventory. Otherwise, it stays internal.

II.

Timestamping

Important milestones — bench results, decisions, reviews — are timestamped (a dated fingerprint receipt). The proof exists without any server holding the content.

III.

One thing at a time

I work on a single subject per session, I do not touch code that works, I do not improvise any optimization.

IV — The setting

Lannemezan, Hautes-Pyrénées.

I work in Lannemezan, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. I do everything myself, from the first to the last step: I write the software, I wire the test benches, I will assemble the module. The company is being created.
